Late August, Beautiful day… went out and filmed for PETER HADAR and band performance at NJPAC. What a treat! I like this kinda work… could get used to it. By no means is being a camera operator easy, especially when your holding a camera, in a crowd, tryn to get that ONE shot, lol. Shoulders, back muscles sore… holding odd positions for long periods of time. but when you do what you love one learns to tolerate the downsides because the upside it totally worth it.

And… lets not even begin to talk about editing. LOL. For starters you need thousands of dollars in computer equipment, not to mention, endless hours of practice and study. Coming from a graphic design trained point of view, I had no idea how time absorbing video editing could be. Your reviewing video, studying all the parts to recall what has the best shots, how to put the vid together… Granted a REAL project would have a storyboard to follow – it makes the post-production much smoother. And thats not a “i got in my head” storyboard. I mean like a real, on paper, storyboard.

This project wasnt the sleep stealer by any means, edits and titles completed over 2 days with a coupled effort, artist and camera/computer guy. Nonetheless, efficiency should always be at the top of any businessman’s list: Faster, Better, Stronger.

I have a few small things in production now…. which reminds me… I GOT WORK TO DO. =) Hoooolllla
